Inorganic pyrophosphatase from Pasteurella multocida has been used in combination with glycosyltransferases and sugar kinases to synthesize various activated sugars.

*Enzymatic activity assays are performed in Tris-HCl buffer (100 mM, pH 8.0) containing 10 mM MgCl2 and 500 mM NaCl at room temperature for 5 min.
